Once again, when it comes to Wordpress themes, I am star-crossed. As I wrote in my post “Reams of Themes,” I am too quick to love. And my naivite has again been punished…

Sorry for the melodrama, but my beloved theme, Deep Red, from Arcsin also went from sizzle to fizzle. Things stopped working. When my dashboard lost its stylesheet, I tried to work with it for a while then blamed my plug-ins, and offed them one by one, firing squad style.
Today, it came to my attention my permalinks weren’t behaving the way I wanted. With a sigh of trepidation, I went to the developer’s site and read the litany of complaints: like I, others had been shunned. It was time to stop blaming myself. It wasn’t me, it was my theme. It’s antiquated and won’t work with the current Wordpress version.
So, sorry Deep Red, it was steamy while it lasted. Now I’m on the rebound with Gray Shade. Maybe not as flashy, but at this point I’ll take dependable.
I still can’t get the dashboard to get along with the stylesheet unless I’m using Internet Explorer – sigh. Maybe my expectations are just too high.
Update: Learn from my misfortune! AdBlocker can block the CSS stylesheet of your dashboard. The most important lessons are those you figure out on your own.
